Winning one-two combo!!
Two important awards were received by Merlo Group on the occasion of the seventh edition of GIS 2019, the largest Italian exhibition of Lifting, Handling and Heavy Transport Vehicles that was held at the exhibition centre of Piacenza Expo, Italy, from 3 to 5 October 2019.
The awards ceremony took place in the prestigious historic setting of the Monumental Hall of the Gothic Palace in Piacenza.
The “Special Entrepreneur of the Year Award” was awarded to Mr Amilcare Merlo for its ingenuity and pioneering spirit in making and above all marking the history of Italian industry.
President and CEO of the Merlo company he founded in 1964 – an industrial evolution of the historic family company that has been operating since 1911 – Mr Merlo turned the basic philosophy that has always guided his entrepreneurial approach into the guideline for the entire Group: “The most gratifying effort for us is not to design and manufacture our products but to have the ideas and be able to develop them. For us, the word ‘technology’ means above all innovation and for this reason we invest considerable resources in research, technological development and industrialisation. However, we continue to make the best investment in our human resources which, through their work, have made the company grow to become an industrial group that today is a benchmark in the world of machinery“.
The “Prize for the Training Centre of the Year” was awarded to the CFRM, the most innovative school in Italy and one of the best organised in Europe for the coaching and operational training of personnel involved in the management of industrial, agricultural, forestry, construction and urban hygiene/health machinery and equipment.
