Fire Red
The CFRM experience area recently hosted the familiarisation and instruction phases for the Merlo TF 30.9 telehandler, which was added to the fleet of the Cuneo Fire Brigade.
In the midst of the many green machines in the CFRM areas, a red telehandler certainly stands out. If the vehicle is also surrounded by operators wearing firefighter uniforms, things get even more interesting.
In fact, the CFRM hosted personnel from the Cuneo Provincial Fire Brigade for training in the use of its most recent purchase: a Merlo TF 30.9 telehandler.
The theoretical and practical activities made it possible to learn all about the machine’s various functions, especially those relating to safety and the use of different attachments depending on the types of operations to be carried out.
The working configuration of the TF 30.9 is in fact variable thanks to the forks for handling palletised loads, the bucket for bulk materials, the hook for crane-like lifting and the aerial work platform.
The new arrival will make the countless logistical and operational support activities that the Fire Brigade is called upon to carry out on a daily basis even faster and more efficient.
The use of an aerial work platform allows people and materials to be lifted to a working height of up to 10.8 metres, and the various boom functions can be controlled directly from the basket.
One of the numerous activities learned during hands-on training is the replacement of work attachments, a simple operation that can be performed in just a few seconds directly from the cab thanks to the intuitive controls managed directly by the operator on board.
