The Merlo Training and Research Centre was set up to provide a structured and planned approach to the world of operating machinery.

Even the most advanced technologies and the safest work systems require corrected and targeted training for operators to ensure safe use of machinery and work equipment.

2019
CFRM is Training Centre of the Year

The CFRM, for the second consecutive edition, is awarded the Training Center of the Year at the Italplatform GisExpo.

The collaboration with the Italian Army continues with new activities in the training sector.

2018
CFRM looks at the world of school effectively

During 2018 the activities carried out in the CFRM in synergy with the schools were countless and as many as 1252 students from institutes of all types and levels have approached the business world in a new and engaging way.

The Services Company of the ANIMA Federation (Federation of National Associations of Mechanical and Miscellaneous Industries) has identified in the CFRM a qualified partner for the training activities of operators involved in driving access work platforms.

CFRM becomes a qualified EMAK training centre (EFCO and OLEO-MAC brands).

2017
 CFRM is Training Centre of the Year

The performance, magazine is born. It is published by the Merlo Training & Research Centre providing information about the most recent applications and developments in the design, industrial design and training fields.

The CFRM is awarded the Training Center of the Year on the occasion of the Italplatform GisExpo.

The satisfaction index expressed by the participants in the CFRM training courses still grows and reaches the score of 98,9 out of 100.

2016
New off-road track

A new track almost one kilometre along comprising mixed routes of progressively increasing difficulty was implemented for professional off-road driving courses.

CFRM becomes a partner of e-distribuzione (Enel Group) and Mercedes-Benz Italia for safe driving courses with the new Unimog trucks.

The index of satisfaction expressed by people attending CFRM training courses has improved even further to 98,7 out of 100.

2015
Specialisation in agricultural machinery

CFRM became a training centre qualified by Deutz-Fahr and BCS Group.

CFRM staff by now regularly provide training in twelve countries.

A new 5000 square meter test area was set up for driving courses in icy winter conditions.

The index of satisfaction expressed by people attending CFRM training courses came to 98,4 out of 100.

2014
ENAMA patronage

CFRM received ENAMA patronage (Italian National Agency for Agricultural Mechanisation) for its “important role in promoting operator safety”.

2013
A new face

CFRM’s facilities were extensively re-developed – including new operational layouts – to respond even better to changing training and testing requirements.

Challenging, mixed road and off-road routes ensure severe conditions for machinery undergoing final testing and experimentation.

Even areas used for training operators were updated and became multifunctional.

CFRM became a training centre qualified by Volvo Construction Equipment.

2012
CFRM became an accredited Training Centre for the Piedmont Region

The Merlo Research and Training Centre accredited for permanent vocational training by the Piedmont Region.

2011
NATO qualification

CFRM was accredited by NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) to organise training courses.

CFRM training projects are now available in four languages.

The first international training course was held in Poland

2010
Italian Civil Protection training courses

The first accreditations issued concerned operating telehandlers.

Subsequently, CFRM also provided training courses for earthmoving machinery, cranes and trucks, forklift and agricultural and forestry tractors.

2009
ISO 9001 certification

CFRM’s Quality Management System obtained ISO 9001certification.

The initial courses dealt with safe operation of machinery for students attending technical and vocational schools, which continued over the years with growing success.

2008
Training centres affiliated with CFRM set up

A network of affiliated training centres was created throughout Italy to provide widely available, qualified training.

Instructors in these centres are professionals trained and qualified through the Merlo Research and Training Centre.

2007
CFRM began to expand

Specialisation in operational research, testing and training of machinery operators soon saw CFRM stand out as one of the best organisations of its kind in Europe.

CFRM testing areas were chosen by the Taurinense Alpine Brigade (Italian Army) for training of drivers of Lince armoured vehicles.

The Centre became an IPAF Qualified School (International Powered Access Federation), the world authority in the field of access platforms operators training.

2006
The first training course was held

A large company in the telecommunications sector took advantage of the first training course provided by CFRM: the accreditations issued referred to telehandlers.

The Merlo Training and Research Centre came to the fore from the outset as the most innovative training venue in Italy.

2005
CFRM set up

Implement in an area of more than 50,000 square meters with over 2000 square meters of indoor facilities including offices, lecture rooms and workshops.

The modern, hydraulically tilted lateral and crossways stability testing platform for telehandlers and operating machinery is a landmark in its field.
