CFRM at work in the barracks
The Municipal AIB and Civil Protection teams of Borgo San Dalmazzo (CN) carried out a long and demanding maintenance and cleaning of the external areas of the former “Mario Fiore” barracks, in synergy and collaboration with the Fire Brigade of Cuneo and the Merlo Group Training and Research Centre.
The large ex-military complex, closed and unused for many years, on whose driveway gate the symbols of the Taurinense Alpine Brigade and the 2nd Alpine Regiment stand out, has been granted to the Municipality of Borgo San Dalmazzo and could house the new headquarters of the Provincial Command of the Fire Brigade of Cuneo.
The Merlo machines used during the remediation operations, expertly driven by CFRM technicians, assisted the specialized personnel and guaranteed effective and safe interventions.
A Tre Emme tool carrier, having a 350 HP engine and equipped with a forestry mulcher, carried out a first substantial clearing of the areas. This was followed by the intervention of Panoramic and Turbofarmer telescopic handlers equipped with specific attachments (access platform, bucket and grapple) to finalize the most demanding activities: pruning tall trees, handling debris, waste removal, lifting and transporting unsafe felled trees.
