AIB and Merlo at the service of the community
At the Merlo Training and Research Centre, the delivery ceremony to the Association “Squadra AIB e PC di Bernezzo Cervasca Vignolo” of the Valle Grana detachment of a Merlo tracked transporter model Cingo M12.3 EVO, equipped with an innovative mobile chipper and a snow blower.
The delivery of the vehicle, in the presence of the regional and provincial leaders of the Forest Fire Volunteers of Piedmont Corps and the mayors of Bernezzo, Cervasca and Vignolo, is the goal of a process that began with the assignment to the Association of two financial contributions deriving from the tenders proposed by the CRC and CRT Foundations, aimed at the purchase of an operating machine to be used in the fire prevention and maintenance of the territory to benefit the whole community.
The BCC Bank of Caraglio and the three municipalities of Bernezzo, Cervasca and Vignolo, affiliated with the Association, also joined in financing the purchase.
The Merlo Group has also done its part with a special discount price and by including in the supply the professional qualifications of the voluntary staff who will be in charge of the use.
The newcomer will be used both in fire prevention activities (the mobile chipper will allow the cleaning and disposal of wooden materials to be carried out directly on site), and for municipal civil protection activities (cleaning of pedestrian passages and access to public buildings and clearing of sidewalks with the snow blower).
The AIB and PC Team of Bernezzo Cervasca Vignolo, led by Luca Chiapale, has over thirty volunteers who daily make their time and expertise available to the community for the prevention and control of fires and actively collaborate with the police during public events and for the Civil Protection support in the area.
